[1]The Mission of Chesterland Baptist Church is living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the community of faith and announcing the arrival of His kingdom to the world.

 

Reaching out to Christ

Having come to a lifesaving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, willing to be led by  God’s Spirit so as to move toward God’s will, we meet regularly to worship our God in prayer, praise, and stewardship. Through study of the Bible, we seek spiritual growth in our spiritual gifts and further encourage each other.

 

Reaching out to Each Other

As God has called us into a personal relationship with Him and also into relationship with one another, we strive to build lasting relationships by sharing each other’s joys and burdens. Building on our rich Baptist heritage we seek to break down barriers and move into the new life to which Christ has called us.  Through mutual respect for each other, we encourage reconciliation through honest discourse and understanding, refining each other, extending grace to one another, and increasing in spiritual maturity.  We seek to build a place of openness and connectedness that builds up the body of Christ.

 

We further stress the importance of instructing, discipling and encouraging youth to become part of the Body of Christ.  By listening to their voices, and meeting their needs, we accept them as a visible and energetic part of this congregation. We commit to providing opportunities to serve and glorify Christ both within this congregation and the Mission field.

 

Reaching out to our Community

As Jesus has called his Church to be a compelling force for good in the world, our Church should be actively serving, sacrificing, loving, and caring about the things God cares about as expressed in the Bible.  We seek those who long for this relationship with God and help them to understand that fear, failure, and brokenness can be restored and made whole again through Christ.

 

Following Jesus Christ through:

 

Worship

To assemble together regularly for the purpose of praising and worshipping our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Education

Through reading of the Holy Scriptures and encouraging spiritual growth by participating in corporate learning environments such as Sunday school, group Bible studies and Biblically based courses of advanced study.

Stewardship

By effectively managing the blessings with which the Lord has provided us.

Spreading His Good News through:

Evangelism

By telling others about the Good News of Jesus Christ wherever and whenever possible.

Moral Conviction

That the world may witness our everyday actions based on the values derived from the Holy Scriptures.

Relationships

By loving, supporting and helping each other and our neighbors unconditionally in thought and action based on the fact that God places infinite worth on every human being.
